AXONIS

Methodology

How we do it.

Five diagnostic layers. Four delivery pillars. Nothing is guessed.

Layer 01

01 / 05

SEO foundation

Whether the priority practice-area pages are crawlable, indexable, internally linked, and aligned with real buyer searches.

Layer 02

02 / 05

Answer readiness

Whether important pages give direct answers, definitions, FAQs, and comparison context that answer engines can extract cleanly.

Layer 03

03 / 05

AI answer citation

How often AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude mention the firm against named competitors.

Layer 04

04 / 05

Entity clarity

Whether schema, author pages, SRA details, service pages, and public proof make the firm machine-readable and verifiable.

Layer 05

05 / 05

Enquiry leak

Where a qualified visitor loses confidence before calling, emailing, or submitting the form.

01

Diagnostic audit

We run every engagement through the same audit framework before we propose a single fix. Skipping this step is how agencies end up doing generic work — we don't.

What we do

  • Query priority practice-area and buyer-question patterns across Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude.
  • Record every firm cited for each prompt.
  • Map the citation network: what content, schema, and external mentions are the AI systems pulling from?
  • Run the same audit against visible competitors in your practice area.
  • Produce a 15–25 page report with reproducible methodology.

What you get

The exact phrases where you're visible, the exact phrases where your competitors are visible and you aren't, and the structural reasons why.

02

Structural fixes

Search systems and AI tools need clear public signals. They look for consistent service pages, schema markup, entity clarity, reviews, author signals, and trust markers. Many law firm sites leave those signals scattered.

What we do

  • Deploy appropriate schema types without implying Axonis is a law firm.
  • Add author markup with proper entity linking to every piece of thought-leadership content.
  • Structure FAQ content for direct AI citation (AI systems preferentially cite structured FAQs).
  • Disambiguate your firm as an entity (Google Knowledge Graph, Wikidata, legal directories).

What you get

A website that search systems can read as clear, trustworthy, and specific to your practice area.

03

Content-driven citation building

Once the structure is right, we improve the pages and assets that clients actually use to compare firms.

What we do

  • Build targeted answer content for high-intent prompt patterns identified in the audit.
  • Craft hub pages that AI systems recognise as definitive sources on a specialism.
  • Develop reproducible proof formats — case-result summaries, methodology explainers, position papers — that AI systems quote directly.
  • Pursue authoritative external citations from legal directories, industry associations, and specialist publications.

What you get

Content that works the first time it's published, not content that has to wait twelve months for a ranking improvement that may never come.

04

Monitoring and iteration

AI systems change. Their ranking signals change. What was cited in January may not be cited in April. This isn't a set-and-forget engagement.

What we do

  • Weekly (Accelerate) or monthly (Essentials) re-scans of your core prompt patterns.
  • Alert-based notification when citation position changes materially.
  • Quarterly strategic review with your team.
  • Continuous refresh of structural and content assets.

What you get

A firm whose qualified visibility is actively defended, not passively hoped for.

Discovery audit timeline

Six weeks, week by week.

Most agencies hand you a deliverables list and disappear for six weeks. We don’t. Below is what week one through week six actually look like — what we’re working on, and what lands in your inbox.

  1. Week 1

    Kick-off and competitor confirmation

    What happens

60-min kick-off call. You confirm three competitors, your priority practice areas, and the buyer prompts you most want to be cited for.

    What you receive

Working brief, prompt-pattern shortlist, scan window confirmed.

  2. Week 2

    Baseline scan begins

    What happens

We run 40+ prompt patterns across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude, and Gemini — for your firm and the three competitors.

    What you receive

Mid-week status note with the first signal we see (no findings yet — this is data-collection week).

  3. Week 3

    Citation network mapping

    What happens

We trace what content, schema, and external mentions the AI systems are pulling from. The map shows why your competitors are cited and you aren't (or vice versa).

    What you receive

Citation network draft (PDF) and a 15-min Loom walking you through the most surprising finding.

  4. Week 4

    Structural fix list

    What happens

Schema audit, entity-disambiguation audit, content-cluster audit. Every gap gets an effort estimate and an expected citation impact.

    What you receive

Ranked structural-issue list, with implementation code samples for the top 5.

  5. Week 5

    Roadmap and proof drafts

    What happens

We draft the 90-day roadmap and the recommended next-quarter content interventions. Built so your in-house team or existing SEO agency can execute without us.

    What you receive

Draft report for your review, plus the executive summary.

  6. Week 6

    Final report and walkthrough

    What happens

Two-hour live walkthrough (or 30-min Loom if you prefer async). Your questions, our working — no slide deck, no sales pitch.

    What you receive

Final report, recorded walkthrough, and the choice: implement yourself, hand it to your existing agency, or move into a retainer with us.
